Ugandan President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged members of the opposition in Uganda to stop divisive politics.Speaking in Kampala today, Museveni has linked Bobi Wine to the instability experienced in various parts of the country.
“The opposition believes that everything is solved through violence. Bobi Wine should retire from active politics if he is not sincere his useless struggle” Museveni said.
The Ugandan President has advised members of the opposition to emulate from the opposition chief in Kenya who willingly met president Uhuru Kenyatta for a handshake. Museveni says elections should not destroy the existing peace in any country.
“Election is just a process that comes and go.You cannot fight a government through street noise” Museveni added.Museveni has threatened to bring politicians who incite members of the public before justice.
Recently, members of the opposition in Uganda threatened to oust President Museveni accusing him of dictatorship in the country. Ugandan detectives acted by arresting eight members of the opposition.
Museveni in a statement challenged the opposition to use guerilla warfare to overthrow him.”I came into power through the hard way. Anyone dreaming of being President in Uganda has to use the nearby forest” he quipped.
